Regular Season Round 10: Miskolc - PEAC-Pecs 50-69

There was a small surprise when eighth ranked PEAC-Pecs (4-5) rolled over on the road 6th ranked Miskolc (4-5) 69-50 on Friday. PEAC-Pecs dominated on the defensive end, holding Miskolc to just 5 points in second quarter. They outrebounded Miskolc 39-28 including 25 on the defensive glass. Nigerian forward Sarah Imovbioh (188-92, college: S.Carolina) notched a double-double by scoring 13 points and 15 rebounds to lead the effort and Serbian point guard Sanja Mandic (178-95, agency: BeoBasket) supported her with 10 points, 5 rebounds, 10 assists and 4 steals. Four PEAC-Pecs players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 14 points and 12 rebounds by American guard Kirby Burkholder (183-92, college: JMU, agency: Interperformances) did not help to save the game for Miskolc. International point guard Dora Nagy (170-95) added 13 points for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. PEAC-Pecs have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to seventh place, which they share with defeated Miskolc. Miskolc lost fourth consecutive game. PEAC-Pecs will meet league's leader Atomeromu in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Miskolc will play against BEAC-Ujbuda (#11) in Budapest and hope to secure a win.
