The game between closely ranked teams ended with 10th ranked Starwings' (3-8) home loss to ninth ranked Monthey (5-6) 64-83. Monthey outrebounded Starwings 32-19 including 21 on the defensive glass. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Markel Humphrey (198-86, college: Marshall, agency: 3Eye) who led the winners and scored 18 points and 6 assists. Serbian center Uros Nikolic (207-87, agency: BeoExcell) accounted for 13 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side. Monthey's coach Branko Milisavljevic allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Serbian-Montenegrin center Nemanja Calasan (204-85, college: Purdue, agency: HMS) came up with 15 points and 9 rebounds and Croatian guard Petar Babic (190-85) added 12 points and 7 assists respectively for Starwings in the defeat. Five Monthey and four Starwings players scored in double figures. Defending champion moved-up to seventh place. Starwings at the other side keep the tenth position with eight games lost. Monthey will play against higher ranked Boncourt (#6) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Starwings will play against the league's second-placed Lugano Tigers (#2) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
