An exciting game was played in Nicosia. Second ranked Keravnos faced 3rd ranked Apoel. Guests from Strovolos (6-1) defeated host Apoel (4-3) 87-71. They outrebounded Apoel 31-17 including a 24-12 advantage in defensive rebounds. Keravnos looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was American-Somalian forward Mohamed Abukar (208-85, college: San Diego St., agency: Two Points) who scored 23 points. American power forward Terell Parks (204-91, college: W.Illinois) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds. Four Keravnos players scored in double figures. American power forward John Fields (205-88, college: Tennessee) produced 21 points and 7 rebounds and his fellow American import point guard Ashton Moore (183-93, college: Citadel) added 16 points respectively for the hosts. Keravnos have an impressive six-game winning streak. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader, which they share with AEK. Apoel at the other side keeps the third place with three games lost. They share the position with Etha. Keravnos is looking forward to face Apollon (#6) in Limassol in the next round where they are favorite. Apoel will play on the road against Enosis in Paralimni and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
