There was no surprise in Nicosia where 7th ranked APOP (1-6) was defeated by fourth ranked Etha (4-3) 83-66. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by APOP's players. Etha brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. The game was dominated by American players. Forward Dion Wright (201-93, college: St.Bonaventure) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 15 rebounds and 6 assists. Guard Trevis Wyche (185-95, college: St.Peter's) contributed with 12 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Five Etha players scored in double figures. Guard Tracy Abrams (188-92, college: Illinois) replied with 27 points and 7 rebounds and guard James Milliken (188-93, college: Creighton, agency: SDJ Sports) added 15 points in the effort for APOP. Etha moved-up to third place, which they share with Apoel. APOP lost sixth consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom position with six games lost. Etha will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. APOP will play at home against the league's leader AEK (#1) to get more than just one victory in their record.
