Regular Season Round 10: Kormend - KTE-Duna 91-85

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Kormend as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Kormend defeated 10th ranked KTE-Duna at home 91-85. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But KTE-Duna won third quarter 21-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Kormend made 21-of-24 free shots (87.5 percent) during the game. Kormend had a 28-16 advantage in offensive rebounds. 25 personal fouls committed by KTE-Duna helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Andre Hollins (186-92, college: Minnesota, agency: 3Eye) who helped to win the game recording 15 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists (made all of his ten free throws !!!). The other American import guard Marquis Wright (185-95, college: Siena) contributed with 19 points and 6 assists for the winners. Kormend's coach Gasper Potocnik used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American guard Bernard Thompson (191-93, college: FGCU) replied with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists and 8 steals and Serbian center Rastko Dramicanin (208-86) added 18 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for KTE-Duna. Kormend (8-1) have an impressive six-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Szolnok. KTE-Duna at the other side keeps the tenth place with five games lost. They share the position with Kaposvari. KTE-Duna will play next round against Kaposvari trying to get back on the winning streak. Kormend will try to continue on its current victory against sixth ranked Szedeak in Szeged.
