Regular Season Round 18: Spartak SP - TEMP-SUMZ 75-71

The most important game in the last round took place in Saint Petersburg between third ranked TEMP-SUMZ Revda (12-6) and twelfth ranked Spartak St.Petersburg (4-12) on Tuesday night. TEMP-SUMZ Revda was defeated by Spartak St.Petersburg in a tough game on the road 71-75. Strangely TEMP-SUMZ Revda outrebounded Spartak St.Petersburg 48-29 including a 21-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. 25 personal fouls committed by TEMP-SUMZ Revda helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for American guard Jimmy Gavin (190-91, college: Winthrop) who led his team to a victory with 22 points and 5 assists. Forward Andrey Semenov (200-90, college: JMU) contributed with 11 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Power forward Aleksandr Lavnikov (205-91, agency: Alti Sport) replied with 15 points and 9 rebounds and point guard Alexandr Varnakov (185-92) added 13 points and 4 assists in the effort for TEMP-SUMZ Revda. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Newly promoted Spartak St.Petersburg maintains twelfth position with 4-12 record. TEMP-SUMZ Revda at the other side dropped to the fourth place with six games lost. They share the position with Ural Ekaterinb.. Spartak St.Petersburg are looking forward to face higher ranked Ural Ekaterinburg (#5) at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. TEMP-SUMZ Revda will play against Zenit-Farm in Saint Petersburg and is hoping to win this game.
