Regular Season Round 11: Szedeak - Kormend 79-80
Date: December 16, 2017
The most exciting game of round 11 in the A Division took place in Szeged. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of 7th ranked Szedeak (5-6) to first ranked Kormend (9-1) 80-79 on Saturday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Szedeak won third quarter 20-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. 25 personal fouls committed by Szedeak helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a great evening for American guard Andre Hollins (186-92, college: Minnesota, agency: 3Eye) who led his team to a victory scoring 18 points and 7 assists. The former international Csaba Ferencz (194-85) helped adding 18 points and 6 rebounds. Four Kormend players scored in double figures. Serbian guard Marko Boltic (193-87, agency: 011 Sports) responded with 20 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists and Serbian guard Andrija Ciric (198-80) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds. Kormend have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain first place with 9-1 record. Szedeak at the other side dropped to the tenth position with six games lost. Kormend are looking forward to face Atomeromu (#7) in Paks in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Szedeak will play on the road against Kaposvari and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
