Regular Season Round 19: Samara-SGEU - Novosybirsk 49-66

The game between third ranked Samara-SGEU (13-6) and sixth ranked Novosybirsk (11-7) was the most important one in the last round on Monday night. Samara-SGEU was defeated by Novosybirsk in Samara 66-49. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Samara-SGEU. They outrebounded Samara-SGEU 50-37 including 18 on the offensive glass. It was a great evening for swingman Kirill Pisklov (194-96) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds. Center Alexey Kurtsevich (210-89) helped adding 14 points and 13 rebounds. Four Novosybirsk players scored in double figures. At the losing side Lithuanian point guard Linas Lekavicius (186-84, college: American) responded with 13 points and forward Agasiy Tonoyan (202-98) scored 9 points. Samara-SGEU's coach rotated twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Novosybirsk have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain sixth place with 11-7 record, which they share with Univ.Surgut. Samara-SGEU at the other side keeps the third position with six games lost. They share it with TEMP-SUMZ. Novosybirsk is looking forward to face league's leader Spartak-Prim. in Vladivostok in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Samara-SGEU will play on the road against Kupol-Rodniki in Izhevsk and is hoping to win this game.
