Very predictable result when second ranked Lugano Tigers (11-2) won against 9th ranked Swiss Central (4-9) in Luzern 94-83. They outrebounded Swiss Central 37-24 including 28 on the defensive glass. American power forward James Padgett (203-91, college: Maryland) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and the former international forward Westher Molteni (200-87) chipped in 14 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. At the losing side American center Eric Thompson (204-93, college: Pacific) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and the other American import point guard Austin Chatman (183-93, college: Creighton, agency: SDJ Sports) scored 22 points and 8 assists. Four Lugano Tigers and five Swiss Central players scored in double figures. Lugano Tigers have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain second place with 11-2 record behind leader Fribourg, which they share with Geneve Lions. Swiss Central lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with nine games lost. Lugano Tigers will play against Monthey (#7) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Swiss Central will play against Winterthur and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
