Regular Season Round 13: ZTE KK - Szolnok 85-88

The most exciting game of round 13 in the A Division took place in Zalaegerszeg. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 6th ranked ZTE KK (7-6) to second ranked Szolnok (10-2) 88-85 on Thursday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of ZTE KK. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But ZTE KK won third quarter 21-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Szolnok made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of international swingman David Vojvoda (196-90) who helped to win the game recording 19 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. American point guard Kendrick Perry (183-92, college: Youngstown St.) contributed with 17 points and 4 assists for the winners. Croatian power forward Ivica Radic (208-90, agency: XL Basketball Agency) answered with 21 points and 8 rebounds and American guard Deonta Vaughn (184-86, college: Cincinnati, agency: Interperformances) added 19 points and 8 assists in the effort for ZTE KK. Five Szolnok and four ZTE KK players scored in double figures. Szolnok keeps a position of league leader. ZTE KK at the other side dropped to the seventh place with six games lost. They share the position with PVSK-Veolia. Szolnok are looking forward to face PVSK-Veolia (#8) in Pecs in the next round and are hoping to win another game. ZTE KK will play on the road against KTE-Duna in Kecskemet and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
