Regular Season Round 21: CSKA 2 - Samara-SGEU 64-75

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked CSKA 2 (15-4) in Moscow on Friday night. Hosts were defeated by third ranked Samara-SGEU (15-6) 75-64. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of CSKA 2. They outrebounded CSKA 2 43-24 including a 15-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a good game for the former international forward Aleksei Zozulin (198-83) who led his team to a victory with 18 points. Point guard Aleksey Golyahov (190-84) contributed with 16 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Maksim Kondakov (186-95, agency: Alti Sport) answered with 19 points and 7 rebounds and Aleksandr Gankevich (201-95) added 14 points in the effort for CSKA 2. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Samara-SGEU maintains third place with 15-6 record behind leader Spartak-Prim. Newly promoted CSKA 2 dropped to the second position with four games lost. Samara-SGEU are looking forward to face Ryazan (#13) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. CSKA 2 will play against the league's leader Spartak-Prim. (#1) in Vladivostok and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
