Regular Season Round 15: Geneve Lions - Lugano Tigers 89-80

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Geneve. Third ranked Geneve Lions faced second-best Lugano Tigers. Host Geneve Lions (13-2) defeated guests from Lugano (12-3) 89-80. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Lugano Tigers. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Geneve Lions shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 52.2 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international Marko Mladjan (205-93) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds. The former international Arnaud Cotture (203-95) chipped in 18 points and 9 rebounds. Four Geneve Lions players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American power forward James Padgett (203-91, college: Maryland) who recorded a double-double by scoring 29 points and 12 rebounds and the other American import swingman Isaiah Williams (201-92, college: Iona) added 14 points and 5 assists respectively. Geneve Lions have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They moved-up to second place. Lugano Tigers at the other side dropped to the third position with three games lost. Geneve Lions are looking forward to face Starwings (#10) in Basel in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Lugano Tigers will play at home against Winterthur (#11) and are hoping to win this game.
