Regular Season Round 12: Winterthur - Fribourg 72-75

The most exciting game of round 12 in the SBL took place in Winterthur. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 5th ranked Winterthur (6-6) to first ranked Fribourg (10-1) 75-72 on Sunday evening. Fribourg made 26-of-33 free shots (78.8 percent) during the game, while Winterthur only scored seven points from the stripe. They outrebounded Winterthur 39-20 including a 25-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best for the losing side was German guard Paulina Koerner (175-96, college: Columbia) with 18 points and American guard Abria Trice (185-92, college: E.Carolina, agency: LBM Management) scored 16 points and 5 rebounds. Four Fribourg and five Winterthur players scored in double figures. Winterthur's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Fribourg have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 10-1 record. Winterthur at the other side keeps the fifth place with six games lost. Fribourg are looking forward to face Bellinzona (#4) on the road in the next round. Winterthur will play against Geneve Basket and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
