Regular Season Round 15: Swiss Central - Starwings 71-88

There was a small surprise in Luzern where tenth ranked Starwings (5-10) defeated 8th ranked Swiss Central (6-10) 88-71 on Sunday. Starwings dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Swiss Central's 26 and made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Swiss Central 39-27 including 30 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for Serbian-Montenegrin center Nemanja Calasan (204-85, college: Purdue, agency: HMS) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists. Point guard Branislav Kostic (180-94) helped adding 26 points and 5 assists. The best for the losing side was Marco Lehmann (186-93) with 24 points and Lithuanian Martynas Kairavicius (196-88) scored 19 points. Starwings maintains tenth place with 5-10 record. Loser Swiss Central dropped to the ninth position with ten games lost. Starwings will meet at home league's second-placed Geneve Lions in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Swiss Central will play against Boncourt (#6) and hope to secure a win.
