Regular Season Round 12: UNI Gyor - PINKK-Pecsi 88-79

There was no surprise when 7th ranked PINKK-Pecsi (5-6) was defeated on the road by second ranked UNI Gyor (9-2) 88-79. PINKK-Pecsi was ahead by 4 points at the halftime before a 48-35 second half run of UNI Gyor. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. The winners were led by Canadian guard Nirra Fields (175-93, college: UCLA) who scored that evening 26 points and international forward Cyesha Goree (190-93, college: Michigan) supported her with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Even 25 points and 7 rebounds by American forward Ivey Slaughter (186-94, college: Florida St.) did not help to save the game for PINKK-Pecsi. Sara Benke (180-97) added 13 points. Five UNI Gyor and four PINKK-Pecsi players scored in double figures. UNI Gyor maintains second position with 9-2 record having just two points less than leader Atomeromu, which they share with Sopron Basket. PINKK-Pecsi at the other side keeps the seventh place with six games lost. UNI Gyor will have a break next round. PINKK-Pecsi will play at home against ZTE NKK (#4) and hope to win that game.
