There was no surprise in Saint Petersburg where 14th ranked Zenit-Farm (2-18) was outplayed by seventh ranked Universitet-Yugra (13-9) 95-69 on Monday. Universitet-Yugra outrebounded Zenit-Farm 38-25 including 25 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Serbian guard Nemanja Protic (182-86) fired 19 points and 9 assists for the winners. Serbian Nikola Lepojevic (195-82, agency: BeoExcell) chipped in 14 points. Four Universitet-Yugra players scored in double figures. Forward Nikita Barinov (203-91) produced 10 points and 8 rebounds and naturalized Belarusian power forward Valentin Iurchik (210-87, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) added 13 points respectively for lost side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Universitet-Yugra maintains seventh position with 13-9 record. Zenit-Farm lost ninth consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay dead last with 18 lost games. Universitet-Yugra will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Zenit-Farm will play against Novosybirsk (#6) and hope to secure a win.
