Regular Season Round 8: Usti n/Labem - Helios 112-83

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when second-ranked Slovenian Helios (3-2) were rolled over on the road by third ranked Czech BK Usti nad Labem (2-4) 112-83 on Wednesday. BK Usti nad Labem outrebounded Helios 39-27 including 30 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Ladislav Pecka (197-91) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 5 rebounds and American guard Donald Robinson (193-89, college: W.Virginia Tech) who added 21 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) during the contest. Five BK Usti nad Labem players scored in double figures. BK Usti nad Labem had such big advantage that coach felt comfortable to give the chance to play for 11 players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Forward Blaz Mahkovic (201-90, agency: PEPI SPORT) responded with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds and guard Jure Pelko (190-90, agency: PEPI SPORT) scored 23 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Despite that victory BK Usti nad Labem went down to fifteenth position (Group D) due to points difference. Loser Helios dropped to the fourteenth place with two games lost.
