No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Neuchatel (9-7) beat bottom-ranked Lakers (1-15) in Vevey 74-65 on Friday. The winners were led by Serbian center Milovan Rakovic (208-85) who scored that evening 15 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists and American guard Tayloe Taylor (191-86, college: Livingstone) supported him with 15 points. Five Neuchatel players scored in double figures. Neuchatel's coach Niksa Bavcevic used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 24 points by swingman Axel Louissaint (197-96) did not help to save the game for Lakers. The former international point guard Steeve Louissaint (191-87) added 17 points and 5 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for lost side. Neuchatel moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Massagno and Boncourt. Lakers lost fifteenth consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom position with 15 games lost. Neuchatel will meet at home Starwings (#10) in the next round where they are favorite. Lakers will play against Swiss Central in Luzern and hope to win that game.
