No shocking result in a game in Budapest where second ranked Kormend (11-3) defeated 13th ranked MAFC (3-12) 73-62 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 1-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 73-62. The best player for the winners was point guard Akos Halasz (183-91, agency: HMS) who scored 16 points and 7 assists. American guard Andre Hollins (186-92, college: Minnesota, agency: 3Eye) chipped in 12 points and 7 assists. Five Kormend players scored in double figures. Kormend's coach Gasper Potocnik allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the other side the best for losing team was Bahamas forward Bennet Davis (206-84, college: Northeastern, agency: Inception Sports) who recorded a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds and the former international Marton Fodor (192-81) added 19 points and 4 assists respectively. Kormend maintains second place with 11-3 record behind leader Szolnok. MAFC lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the thirteenth position with 12 games lost. Kormend will face bottom-ranked Sopron KC (#14) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. MAFC will play against Kaposvari and hope to win that game.
