Regular Season Round 13: Sopron Basket - Miskolc 79-62

There was no surprise when 5th ranked Miskolc (6-6) was defeated on the road by third ranked Sopron Basket (10-2) 79-62. The game was mostly controlled by Sopron Basket. Miskolc was better in fourth quarter 22-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Miskolc 40-29 including 28 on the defensive glass. Serbian forward Aleksandra Crvendakic (188-96) nailed 11 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side and the former international Virag Weninger (179-97) accounted for 14 points. American point guard Ashleigh Fontenette (172-89, college: Texas) came up with 18 points and 4 assists and the other American import guard Kirby Burkholder (183-92, college: JMU) added 4 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Miskolc in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Sopron Basket. Defending champion moved-up to second place. Miskolc at the other side keeps the fifth position with six games lost. Sopron Basket's next round opponent will be ZTE NKK (#4) in Zalaegerszeg. Miskolc will play at home against Cegledi EKK and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
