Regular Season Round 14: Samara-2 - Zenit 83-75

There was no surprise when 7th ranked Zenit-2 (7-13) was defeated on the road by fourth ranked Samara-2 (15-5) 83-75. Samara-2 had a 28-16 advantage in offensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three nailing 12 long-distance shots on high 52.2 percentage. Center Dmitriy Khaldeyev (208-99) notched a double-double by scoring 27 points and 16 rebounds to lead the effort and forward Filip Stoyko (200-98) supported him with 15 points and 11 rebounds. Even 20 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 steals by forward Yuliy Kalinin (198-98) did not help to save the game for Zenit-2. Semen Krashilshchikov (197-0) added 17 points and 4 assists for the guests. Four Zenit-2 players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Samara-2 have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 15-5 record. Zenit-2 at the other side keeps the seventh place with 13 games lost. Samara-2's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Lokomotiv-2 in Krasnodar and it may be the game of the week. Zenit-2 will play on the road against Avtodor-2 (#9) in Saratov and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
