Regular Season Round 25: Samara-SGEU - Spartak-Prim. 86-69

There was a change at the Superleague 1 leadership position after last games. Round 25 most important game was a defeat of league's leader Spartak-Prim. (19-6). They were defeated by second ranked Samara-SGEU (18-6) 86-69 on Sunday night. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Spartak-Prim.. Samara-SGEU shot the lights out from three sinking 16 long-distance shots on high 51.6 percentage. Lithuanian point guard Linas Lekavicius (186-84, college: American) stepped up and scored 19 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals for the winners and point guard Aleksey Golyahov (190-84) chipped in 21 points. Four Samara-SGEU players scored in double figures. Samara-SGEU's coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side power forward Maxim Krivosheev (207-88) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 14 rebounds and Latvian power forward Artjoms Butjankovs (205-91) scored 17 points and 7 rebounds. Samara-SGEU have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Despite that victory Samara-SGEU went down to third position due to points difference. Spartak-Prim. at the other side dropped to the second place with six games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Irkut. Spartak-Prim. will play next round against league's leader Irkut Irkutsk trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Samara-SGEU will try to continue on its current victory against thirteenth ranked Zenit-Farm in Saint Petersburg.
