Regular Season Round 17: Kormend - Kaposvari 94-77

Second ranked Kormend (13-3) crushed at home 9th ranked Kaposvari (7-9) by 17 points 94-77, which is the biggest margin this round on Saturday night. The game was mostly controlled by Kormend. Kaposvari managed to win fourth quarter 26-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was the former international Csaba Ferencz (194-85) who scored 23 points and 9 rebounds. The former international power forward Milan Csorvasi (209-88, agency: HMS) chipped in 18 points and 6 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Four Kormend players scored in double figures. American guard Sterling Gibbs (188-92, college: Connecticut) produced 34 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import point guard Christopher Dunn (189-83, college: W.Virginia St., agency: Inception Sports) added 21 points and 5 assists respectively for the guests. Kaposvari's coach Adam Fekete rotated eleven players seeing no chance for a win. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Kormend. They maintain second place with 13-3 record behind leader Szolnok. Loser Kaposvari keeps the ninth position with nine games lost. Kormend will meet Falco-Vulcano (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Kaposvari will play against Sopron KC (#14) and hope to secure a win.
