Regular Season Round 15: Miskolc - MTK 87-54

Date: January 27, 2018
Sixth ranked Miskolc (8-6) crushed at home 10th ranked MTK (2-12) by 33 points 87-54, which is the biggest margin this round. The game was mostly controlled by Miskolc. MTK was better in fourth quarter 14-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded MTK 33-22 including 25 on the defensive glass. Miskolc players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by MTK's players. It was a good game for the former international guard Krisztina Raksanyi (180-91) who led her team to a victory with 19 points. American point guard Ashleigh Fontenette (172-89, college: Texas) contributed with 9 points and 7 assists for the winners. Flora Szabo (187-92) answered with 18 points and 5 rebounds and Croatian forward Andrijana Cvitkovic (190-94, college: Dayton, agency: Interperformances) added 10 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for MTK. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Miskolc moved-up to fifth place. MTK at the other side keeps the tenth position with 12 games lost. Miskolc's next round opponent will be PINKK-Pecsi (#8) at home. MTK's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Budapest Vasas Akademia.
