The game in Kazan supposed to be also quite interesting. Second ranked UMMC Ekaterinburg (13-1) played at the court of 5th ranked Kazanochka (6-8). UMMC Ekaterinburg smashed Kazanochka 76-53 on Sunday. UMMC Ekaterinburg dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Kazanochka's 20. They outrebounded Kazanochka 50-26 including a 38-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. International Eugeniya Belyakova (182-86, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) notched 14 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and American center Brittney Griner (203-90, college: Baylor) supported her with 15 points and 5 rebounds. Even 10 points by American forward Merritt Hempe (190-94, college: Georgia) did not help to save the game for Kazanochka. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. UMMC Ekaterinburg have a solid three-game winning streak. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader. Loser Kazanochka dropped to the seventh place with eight games lost.
