Regular Season Round 15: Etha - Apoel 93-102

Round 15 most important game was a victory of Apoel over 4th placed Etha 102-93 on Monday night. Apoel looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. 26 personal fouls committed by Etha helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American players dominated the game. It was a good game for center Marvin Jefferson (206-86, college: Idaho, agency: Slash Sports) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 14 rebounds and 4 blocks. Power forward Justin Baker (203-89, college: Utah Valley) contributed with 23 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Baker is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Guard Jeremy Hollimon (190-94, college: Troy) answered with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 11 rebounds and Tavarion Nix (201, college: Midwestern St.) added 18 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) in the effort for Etha. Four Apoel and five Etha players scored in double figures. Etha's coach Giorgos Bitzanis rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Apoel (7-6) moved-up to fourth place. Etha lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth position with seven games lost. Apoel will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Etha will play on the road against Apollon (#6) in Limassol and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
