The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Spartak-Prim. as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Spartak-Prim. smashed 12th ranked Spartak St.Petersburg in Vladivostok 79-49. Spartak-Prim. dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Spartak St.Petersburg's 26 and made 19-of-23 free shots (82.6 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Viktor Zaryazhko (195-92) who helped to win the game recording 14 points and 7 assists and power forward Anton Sayapin (204-86) who added 18 points (made all of his seven free throws) during the contest. Five Spartak-Prim. players scored in double figures. At the losing side forward Andrey Semenov (200-90, college: JMU) responded with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds and American guard Jimmy Gavin (190-91, college: Winthrop) scored 16 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Spartak-Prim. have a solid three-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Spartak St.Petersburg lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the twelfth place with 19 games lost. Spartak St.Petersburg will play next round against Irkut Irkutsk trying to get back on the winning streak. Spartak-Prim. will try to continue on its current victory against thirteenth ranked Zenit-Farm in Saint Petersburg.
