Regular Season Round 19: Szolnok - Alba 88-89

Leading Szolnok (14-3) recorded its third loss at the home court. Hosts were edged by fourth ranked Alba (12-5) 89-88. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Szolnok. Alba players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Szolnok was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for American forward Alandise Harris (198-90, college: Arkansas) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points and 6 rebounds. The former international power forward Peter Lorant (206-85, agency: Octagon Europe) helped adding 20 points and 5 rebounds. Alba's coach Branislav Dzunic allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. At the losing side Serbian forward Strahinja Milosevic (203-85) responded with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 7 rebounds and 11 assists and American point guard Kendrick Perry (183-92, college: Youngstown St.) scored 19 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Szolnok players scored in double figures. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Alba. Defending champion moved-up to third place, which they share with Falco-Vulcano. Szolnok at the other side still keeps top position with three games lost. They share it with Kormend. Alba will play against KTE-Duna (#7) in Kecskemet in the next round. Szolnok will play on the road against JP-Auto JKSE (#11) in Jaszberenyi and hopes to get back on the winning track.
