An interesting game was played in Saint Petersburg where host Zenit-2 (#7) won against 4th placed Unics-2 with 15-point difference 85-70 on Sunday evening. Zenit-2 outrebounded Unics-2 40-26 including 19 on the offensive glass. Semen Krashilshchikov (197-0) stepped up and scored 19 points and 5 rebounds for the winners and Nikita Tikhonov chipped in 13 points. Point guard Sergey Krivykh (182-98) responded with 19 points and 4 assists and forward Aleksey Pasechnik (197-97) scored 13 points. Four Unics-2 players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Zenit-2 have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain seventh place with 11-16 record. Unics-2 lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the fourth position with ten games lost. Zenit-2 will meet higher ranked Khimki-2 (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Unics-2 will play against the league's leader Samara-2 and will have a slim chance for a victory.
