Regular Season Round 25: Neftyanik - Rostov 79-74

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked BC Rostov (16-5) in Omsk on Tuesday night. Visitors were defeated by fourth ranked Neftyanik (11-6) 79-74. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of BC Rostov. Kseniya Kornienko stepped up and scored 21 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and guard Darya Filimonova (178-93) chipped in 9 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. At the losing side forward Eleonora Oleynikova (178-98) responded with 19 points and 4 assists and point guard Daria Prosolupova (170-94) scored 17 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). BC Rostov's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Neftyanik maintains fourth place with 11-6 record. BC Rostov at the other side still keeps top position with five games lost. Neftyanik are again looking forward to face league's leader BC Rostov at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. BC Rostov will have a break next round.
