No shocking result in a game when second ranked Tambov (14-9) crushed at home 7th ranked Elbrus Cherk. (2-21) 102-60 on Thursday. Tambov dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Elbrus Cherk.'s 36. Tambov forced 21 Elbrus Cherk. turnovers and outrebounded them 36-22 including 23 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 34 assists comparing to just 19 passes made by Elbrus Cherk.'s players. It was a good game for guard Maksim Kuznetsov (188-90) who led his team to a victory with 26 points (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Center Kirill Arkhipov (202-96) contributed with 9 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Forward Andrey Dorofeev (203-90) answered with 6 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists and guard Georgiy Lachev (194-93) added 16 points in the effort for Elbrus Cherk.The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Tambov maintains second place in 2 with 14-9 record having nine points less than leader Burevestnik. Loser Elbrus Cherk. keeps the seventh position with 21 games lost. Tambov will face again Elbrus Cherk. (#7) in Cherkessk in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game.
