Regular Season Round 28: UMMC Junior - Rostov 50-80

Superleague 1 top team - BC Rostov (19-5) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they crushed fifth ranked UMMC Junior (10-12) in Ekaterinburg 80-50. BC Rostov dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to UMMC Junior's 26. BC Rostov forced 23 UMMC Junior turnovers and outrebounded them 47-35 including a 37-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of power forward Anna Zaytseva (183-99) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 5 rebounds. Forward Eleonora Oleynikova (178-98) contributed with 12 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Center Milena Gegirova (190-98) replied with 19 points and Anastasia Zaytseva (180-97) added 11 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for UMMC Junior. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. BC Rostov have a solid three-game winning streak. BC Rostov maintains first position with 19-5 record. UMMC Junior lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with 12 games lost. BC Rostov is looking forward to face Nika (#4) in Syktyvkar in the next round. UMMC Junior will play on the road against MBA-2 in Moscow and is hoping to prove to their fans that they can break losing series.
