Regular Season Round 30: Khimky-Podmos. - Ryazan 80-74
Date: February 15, 2018
Very predictable result when ninth ranked Khimky-Podmoskoye (13-16) won against bottom-ranked Ryazan (3-25) in Khimki 80-74. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Khimky-Podmoskoye dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Ryazan's 28. 26 personal fouls committed by Ryazan helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was power forward Ilya Karpenkov (203-97) who had a double-double by scoring 27 points and 11 rebounds. Point guard Maxim Tkachenko (185-92, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) chipped in 11 points and 8 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Egor Panov (190-95) who recorded 15 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and Ukrainian center Ievgen Minchenko (213-94) added 8 points, 13 rebounds and 5 blocks respectively. Ryazan's coach Pavel Googe tested eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Khimky-Podmoskoye have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain ninth position with 13-16 record. Ryazan lost twenty fifth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 25 lost games. Khimky-Podmoskoye's next round opponent will be league's leader Samara-SGEU at home and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Ryazan will play against MBA Moscow (#10) and hope to win that game.
