Regular Season Round 18: Unics-2 - Samara-2 87-66

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Samara-2 (22-6) in Kazan on Thursday night. Visitors were rolled over by fourth ranked Unics-2 (19-11) 87-66. It ended at the same time the 15-game winning streak of Samara-2. Unics-2 looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was a good game for point guard Sergey Krivykh (182-98) who led his team to a victory with 21 points, 6 assists and 4 steals. Center Semen Pinaev (208-99) contributed with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Five Unics-2 players scored in double figures. Forward Filip Stoyko (200-98) replied with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds and center Dmitriy Khaldeyev (208-99) added 15 points in the effort for Samara-2. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Unics-2 maintains fourth position with 19-11 record. Samara-2 at the other side still keeps top place with six games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
