Regular Season Round 21: Lakers - Monthey 75-65

Bottom-ranked Lakers managed to get the second consecutive victory. This time newly promoted Lakers won against sixth-ranked Monthey in Vevey 75-65. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Monthey. Strangely Monthey outrebounded Lakers 32-14 including 20 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for Serbian point guard Jagos Matijasevic (194-93) who led his team to a victory with 25 points. Senegalese center Mansour Kasse (208-92) contributed with 20 points and 4 assists for the winners. Lakers' coach Dragan Andrejevic allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American forward Markel Humphrey (198-86, college: Marshall, agency: 3Eye) answered with 20 points and 9 rebounds and Serbian center Uros Nikolic (207-87, agency: BeoExcell) added 14 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for Monthey. Lakers (3-18) moved-up to eleventh place. Defending champion Monthey keeps the sixth position with 11 games lost. They share it with Boncourt. Lakers will play against higher ranked Boncourt (#7) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Monthey will play against Starwings and hopes to get back on the winning track.
