Regular Season Round 17: ZTE NKK - Atomeromu 68-57

Date: February 21, 2018
Undefeated Atomeromu (14-1) recorded its first loss in Zalaegerszeg on Wednesday night. Visitors were defeated by fourth ranked ZTE NKK (10-5) 68-57. It ended at the same time the 14-game winning streak of Atomeromu. The hosts trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 42-29 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. 28 personal fouls committed by Atomeromu helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American center Nadia Parker (191-87, college: USC) who scored 22 points and 8 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Her fellow American import guard Chucky Jeffery (178-91, college: Colorado) chipped in 9 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Parker is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American forward Erica McCall (190-95, college: Stanford, agency: ProDep Management) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds and naturalized Serbian center Sara Krnjic (191-91) added 12 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for the guests. Atomeromu's coach Zeljko Djokic rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. ZTE NKK have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain fourth place with 10-5 record. Atomeromu at the other side still keeps top position with one game lost. ZTE NKK are looking forward to face Miskolc (#5) on the road in the next round. Atomeromu will play against Vasas Akademia (#9) and is hoping to win this game.
