There was no surprise in Saint Petersburg where 12th ranked Spartak St.Petersburg (8-21) was defeated by third ranked TEMP-SUMZ Revda (22-9) 83-68 on Friday. TEMP-SUMZ Revda made 19-of-22 free shots (86.4 percent) during the game. TEMP-SUMZ Revda outrebounded Spartak St.Petersburg 38-24 including 28 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of power forward Aleksandr Lavnikov (205-91, agency: Alti Sport) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and 5 rebounds and guard Fedor Klyuchnikov (192-90) who added 18 points during the contest. Forward Andrey Semenov (200-90, college: JMU) responded with 18 points and the former international guard Gennadi Silantiev (188-77) scored 10 points and 5 assists. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. TEMP-SUMZ Revda have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 22-9 record having just three points less than leader Samara-SGEU. Newly promoted Spartak St.Petersburg keeps the twelfth place with 21 games lost. TEMP-SUMZ Revda will meet Zenit-Farm (#13) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Spartak St.Petersburg will play against Ural Ekaterinburg and hope to secure a win.
