Regular Season Round 18: BEAC Ujbuda - UNI Gyor 59-84

Date: February 24, 2018
There was no surprise in Budapest where 11th ranked BEAC-Ujbuda (1-15) was crushed by third ranked UNI Gyor (12-4) 84-59. The game was mostly controlled by UNI Gyor. BEAC-Ujbuda was better in second period 19-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. UNI Gyor dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to BEAC-Ujbuda's 32. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 29 assists comparing to just 16 passes made by BEAC-Ujbuda's players. American guard Danielle Robinson (178-89, college: Oklahoma) notched 15 points and 5 assists to lead the effort and center Rebeka Nagy (185-97) supported her with 10 points and 6 rebounds. Four UNI Gyor players scored in double figures. Even 15 points and 6 assists by forward Krisztina Sule (178-87) did not help to save the game for BEAC-Ujbuda. International power forward Judit Barnai (189-94) added 11 points and 7 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. UNI Gyor maintains third position with 12-4 record having just three points less than leader Atomeromu. BEAC-Ujbuda at the other side stay at the bottom place with 15 games lost. UNI Gyor's next round opponent will be Miskolc (#5) at home. BEAC-Ujbuda will play against ZTE NKK (#4) in Zalaegerszeg and hope to win that game.
