An interesting game for Samara-SGEU (26-6) which hosted in Samara 4th placed Novosybirsk (19-12). First ranked Samara-SGEU managed to get a 7-point victory 81-74. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Novosybirsk. They outrebounded Novosybirsk 46-28 including a 22-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a good game for the former international forward Aleksei Zozulin (198-83) who led his team to a victory with 16 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. The former international power forward Artem Yakovenko (205-88, agency: Alti Sport) contributed with 18 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Samara-SGEU's coach used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Sergey Tokarev (191-85) answered with 14 points and 8 assists and guard Alexander Martynov (196-95) added 12 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Novosybirsk. Five Novosybirsk players scored in double figures. Samara-SGEU have an impressive series of thirteen victories in a row. They maintain first place with 26-6 record. Novosybirsk at the other side dropped to the sixth position with 12 games lost. Samara-SGEU are looking forward to face Kupol-Rodniki (#11) in Izhevsk in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Novosybirsk will play at home against the league's second-placed Spartak-Prim. (#2) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
