Bottom-ranked MBA-2 managed to get a seventh victory, breaking the seven-game losing streak. This time they won against fifth-ranked UMMC Junior in Moscow 65-51. They outrebounded UMMC Junior 53-30 including a 15-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a good game for center Vera Kuchina (195-0) who led her team to a victory with 12 points and 9 rebounds. Olga Aksenova (187-96) contributed with 9 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Forward Elizaveta Krymova (180-96) replied with 14 points and 5 rebounds and international point guard Viktoriia Zavialova (166-98) added 6 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists in the effort for UMMC Junior. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. MBA-2 maintains ninth position with 7-17 record. UMMC Junior at the other side keeps the fifth place with 13 games lost. MBA-2's next round opponent will be higher ranked Neftyanik (#3) in Omsk and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. UMMC Junior will play on the road against Dynamo-Farm in Kursk and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
