Regular Season Round 18: Inventa - Kazanochka 53-56

A very interesting game took place in Kursk. It ended with only three-point home defeat of 10th ranked Inventa (6-12) to eighth ranked Kazanochka (7-10) 56-53 on Sunday evening. It was a good game for Varvara Psareva (192-85) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Elena Vorozhtsova (176-83) contributed with 12 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Evgeniya Frolkina (182-97) replied with 19 points and Tatiana Sama added 6 points and 13 rebounds in the effort for Inventa. Inventa's coach Elena Shakirova tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Kazanochka moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Sparta&K MR. Newly promoted Inventa keeps the tenth position with 12 games lost. Kazanochka's next round opponent will be higher ranked Enisey Krasnoyarsk (#4) on the road and it may be quite challenging game. Inventa will play against Dynamo NR (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
