The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Dynamo Kursk as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Dynamo Kursk smashed 5th ranked Spartak Vidnoye at home 94-58. They outrebounded Spartak Vidnoye 41-23 including a 30-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Dynamo Kursk especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 64.3 percentage. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Dynamo Kursk made 8 blocks. International center Maria Vadeeva (193-98) scored 21 points, 8 rebounds and 4 blocks to lead the charge for the winners and Nigerian-American forward Nneka Ogwumike (189-90, college: Stanford) chipped in 17 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was American guard Meighan Simmons (175-92, college: Tennessee) with 13 points and the former international Kamilla Ogun (190-99, agency: LBM Management) scored 8 points and 6 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Dynamo Kursk (16-0) have an impressive nine-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Spartak Vidnoye lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the sixth place with ten games lost. They share the position with Kazanochka. Spartak Vidnoye will play next round against Spartak Noginsk trying to get back on the winning streak. Dynamo Kursk will try to continue on its current victory against fifth ranked MBA in Moscow.
