Regular Season Round 20: PINKK-Pecsi - Sopron Basket 63-86

A Division top team - Sopron Basket (17-2) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed eighth ranked PINKK-Pecsi (7-12) 86-63. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of PINKK-Pecsi. The game without a history. Sopron Basket led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to PINKK-Pecsi's 34. Sopron Basket looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by PINKK-Pecsi's players. Worth to mention a quality performance of international center Bernadett Hatar (208-94) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 7 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) and Serbian power forward Tina Jovanovic (192-91) who added 14 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. American forward Ivey Slaughter (186-94, college: Florida St.) responded with 21 points and 5 rebounds and the former international guard Nora Rujak (174-90) scored 6 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Sopron Basket have an impressive 11-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 17-2 record. PINKK-Pecsi at the other side keeps the eighth place with 12 games lost. Sopron Basket will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. PINKK-Pecsi will play on the road against Vasas Akademia (#9) in Budapest and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
