Regular Season Round 22: DEAC - Sopron KC 89-96

Bottom-ranked Sopron KC managed to get a fifth victory, breaking the two-game losing streak. This time they won against twelfth-ranked DEAC in Debrecen 96-89. It looked good early as DEAC took a 1-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Sopron KC had a 34-20 second period charge getting the lead and DEAC was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 89-96. Sopron KC dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to DEAC's 42. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. American power forward Ryan Watkins (206-91, college: Boise St., agency: Two Points) notched a double-double by scoring 27 points and 15 rebounds to lead the effort and the other American import swingman Muhammad El-Amin (196-87, college: Stony Brook) supported him with 18 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists. Even 22 points and 4 assists by Montenegrin point guard Goran Martinic (187-87) did not help to save the game for DEAC. American forward Isaiah Armwood (206-90, college: G.Washington) added 21 points (made all of his nine free throws !!!) for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Sopron KC (5-17) moved-up to thirteenth place. DEAC lost eleventh consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the twelfth position with 16 games lost. Sopron KC will play against higher ranked Alba (#4) in Szekesfehervar in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. DEAC will play at home against ZTE KK (#6) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
