Regular Season Round 33: Neftyanik - Samara 55-62

Very important is a home loss of second ranked Neftyanik (16-11) against fourth ranked Samara (16-11) on Monday night. Host Neftyanik was defeated by Samara in a tough game in Omsk 55-62. It was a good game for forward Yulia Poluyanova (191-92) who led her team to a victory with 22 points and 5 rebounds. Swingman Olga Omelchenko (183-91) contributed with 19 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Samara's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Kseniya Kornienko answered with 13 points and 9 rebounds and guard Mariya Matvienko (172-94) added 10 points and 5 assists in the effort for Neftyanik. Samara moved-up to third place, which they share with defeated Neftyanik. Samara will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Neftyanik will play again at home against Samara and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
