Regular Season Round 34: Neftyanik - Samara 62-78

The biggest surprise of round 34 was guest Samara's (17-11) easy road victory over one of their biggest challengers Neftyanik (16-12) 78-62 on Tuesday evening. They outrebounded Neftyanik 41-28 including a 31-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Forward Yulia Poluyanova (191-92) fired a double-double by scoring 25 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Polina Zavyalova (171-94) chipped in 15 points. Samara's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Ksenia Fedotova produced 16 points and guard Mariya Matvienko (172-94) added 15 points respectively for lost side. Samara moved-up to third place. Neftyanik lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fourth position with 12 games lost. Samara are looking forward to face UMMC Junior (#5) in Ekaterinburg in the next round. Neftyanik will play at home against Sparta&K-2 V and is hoping to win this game.
