Very important is a road loss of third ranked Samara (17-12) against fifth ranked UMMC Junior (14-15) on Friday night. Visiting Samara was defeated by UMMC Junior in a tough game in Ekaterinburg 64-73. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Samara. UMMC Junior forced 20 Samara turnovers. Samara was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was an exceptional evening for point guard Elizaveta Komarova (172-95, agency: LBM Management) who led the winners and scored 19 points, 5 assists and 4 steals. Forward Elizaveta Krymova (180-96) accounted for 15 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side. Four UMMC Junior players scored in double figures. Swingman Olga Omelchenko (183-91) came up with 14 points and forward Yulia Poluyanova (191-92) added 12 points respectively for Samara in the defeat. Samara's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. UMMC Junior have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain fifth place with 14-15 record. Samara at the other side keeps the third position with 12 games lost. They share it with Neftyanik. UMMC Junior will again play against higher ranked Samara (#3) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Samara will have a break next round.
