Very expected game in Syktyvkar where 9th ranked MBA-2 (7-20) was defeated by second ranked Nika (19-8) 81-74 on Friday. The best player for the winners was forward Marina Sheveleva (184-89) who had a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds. Forward Yana Kotova (186-88) chipped in 13 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Anastasia Borovykh (176-96) produced 15 points and Ekaterina Evdokimova (177-0) added 10 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. MBA-2's coach tested eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Nika have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain second place with 19-8 record having just three points less than leader Rostov. MBA-2 lost third consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 20 games lost. Nika will again meet at home bottom-ranked MBA-2 (#9) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. MBA-2 will have a break next round.
