The game in Ekaterinburg was also worth to mention about. Third ranked Samara (18-12) played at the court of 5th ranked UMMC Junior (14-16). Samara defeated UMMC Junior 74-62. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of UMMC Junior. It was a good game for center Sofya Kornyenko (187-98) who led her team to a victory with 12 points and 7 rebounds. Point guard Anastaiya Kuplinova (175-96) contributed with 10 points and 4 assists for the winners. Four Samara players scored in double figures. Forward Elizaveta Krymova (180-96) replied with 18 points and 5 rebounds and Margarita Grin added 8 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for UMMC Junior. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Samara maintains third position with 18-12 record having three points less than leader Rostov, which they share with Neftyanik. UMMC Junior at the other side keeps the fifth place with 16 games lost. Samara will play against league's second-placed Nika in Syktyvkar in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. UMMC Junior will have a break next round.
