Regular Season Round 23: MAFC - Atomeromu 89-78

Bottom-ranked MAFC managed to get a fifth victory, breaking the series of four consecutive losses. This time they won against seventh-ranked Atomeromu in Budapest 89-78. The game was mostly controlled by MAFC. Atomeromu was better in third quarter 27-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Montenegrin guard Amin Hott (192-92) orchestrated the victory by scoring 21 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Naturalized Serbian power forward Nebojsa Dukic (206-88, agency: 011 Sports) contributed with 17 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. International power forward Janos Eilingsfeld (198-91) answered with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 15 rebounds and American guard Ricky Tarrant (188-93, college: Memphis) added 17 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists in the effort for Atomeromu. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. MAFC (5-18) moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Sopron KC. Atomeromu at the other side keeps the seventh position with 11 games lost. MAFC will play against higher ranked Alba (#4) in Szekesfehervar in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Atomeromu will play at home against the league's second-placed Kormend and will have a slim chance for a victory.
